On Sunday 25th January 2009, Bishop Roger Gurling consecrated St Margaret's Chapel in Lyndhurst, New Forest, Hampshire. St Margaret's is a very old chapel set amongst a cemetery and garden of remembrance in the open forest of the beautiful New Forest. Fr Rod Walton had recently secured the lease of this beautiful chapel, which has been recently refurbished. The Consecration was a lovely, joyful service that was attended by local people and Fr Rod's congregation, including the chairman (and family) of the Cemetery Committee who represented the Lyndhurst Parish Council . After the service, there was a reception at the house of Rod's girlfriend, Dr Caroline Wilkins. A spread of food and mulled wine was supplied by Caroline and the Cemetery Committee chairman and his wife - and enjoyed by all! Photos of the church and the service follow below...
