The Pro-Cathedral of The Anglican Independent Communion UK

 Image

Situated in the beautiful country side of Staffordshire, England.

Although Hawksyard hall was built around 1667 it was bought by a Dominican Order in 1896. The Order built a new priory within the grounds which was originally occupied by Nuns of the Order until the early 20th century. The Convent was changed to a Monastery and run by the Monks which included a boarding school for young Dominicans and a theological training centre. The Dominicans left in 1989 and was thus taken over by a reputable nursing home establishment. It is through the proprietors of the nursing home for whom we give thanks for allowing us to occupy this beautiful and awe inspiring building for our Pro-Cathedral.

Although there is building work going on around the Church and this is to refurbish the nursing home, it is estimated that the AICUK will hold its first service the end of July beginning of August 2009. Morning Prayer, the Holy Eucharist and Evening Prayer will be a regular Sunday program of services, plus week day services if requested. The Pro-Cathedral’s primary role will be the worship of God and to support the work of the AICUK and the Worldwide Communion. It will be the home of a community of people who seek to make everyone welcome, it is a place of magnificence and holiness. It is our prayer that you will be inspired to visit the Pro-Cathedral and we look forward to welcoming you.

We have truly been blessed by God.
